6. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
While this movie was, at the time, shrugged off as a mediocre attempt to turn slapstick comedy into a high art, it’s now earned it’s deserved spot on best-of lists, thanks to Carey’s engaging central performance. No-one else can do rubber-faced energy like he can, and that alone deserves it’s place in the history books.
