12. The Haunting
Based on Shirley Jackson’s revolutionary The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting follows a bunch of unlucky characters as they find themselves cooped up in a haunted house for a few weeks. The original book is terrifying enough in itself (and well worth a read), and the movie adaptation does it almost perfect justice- creepy, tension-filled days seem to past as you will everyone inside to get the hell out.
