Anything sprung from the mind of Clive Barker is bound to be a little on the murky side-you just have to know when to run away screaming. This is one of those times. The Cenobites are a race of people trapped in a realm of extreme sadomasochism-they are pinned, sewn, torn and sliced into various permutations to reach the heights of pleasurable pain. Featuring in Hellraiser and various other franchise spin-offs, Barker created them, and their iconic leader, Pinhead, for his book The Hell-Bound Heart on which the film is based.
