7. The Pale Man

While I found Pan’s Labyrinth personally pretty underwhelming, one thing that did live up to expectations was the depiction of the Pale Man. What he was or where he came from was never made clear, but his very form-emaciated, bandy-legged yet wading through folds of flesh, his hands are in his eyes and require him to adopt this appropriately creepy pose to see properly. It’s difficult to explain his appeal (or lack of it) until you’ve seen the film-and, trivia, he’s played by the fellow who depicted the physical form of the Silver Surfer, Doug Jones.
