8. Friends with Kids
Another comedy, but this one with a slightly different premise-after seeing how badly babies change the relationship of all their coupled up pals (stick with me here), a pair of close platonic friends decide to have a child together. It sounds like the perfect premise for larks and japes-but in fact it actually reveals a few solid home truths that leave it high above the premise alone. Not afraid to go in for the melancholy and difficulty that comes with parenthood, it’s also got plenty of hilarious moments-as well as a supporting slot from Chris O’Dowd. Perfect.
