For those of you who like your sad movies with a little more grit and gristle, this Oscar-nominated, frequently brutal affair should be right up your alley. Starring Mickey Rourke as a wrestler who finds his career just about finished with, it mixes hard-earned emotion with the brutality of life both inside and outside the ring. Just try not to think of it as a metaphor for Rourke’s career. Try not to, I said! Look out for an excellent Marisa Tomei as Rourke’s love interest, a stripper with smarts.
