Aside from being a massive box office hit, the film itself turned out to be one of the most lucrative franchises to come out of America. Aside from another four film (why, Tim Curry, why?) and the aforementioned Talkboy, there was also a tie-in board game and three video games released to boot. It turned the whole franchise into one of the highest grossing ever at the time, when everyone was gripped by a bizarre Home Alone fever.
