It’s a movie about a bad filmmaker, for the love of God- how interesting could it be? However, audiences missed out on a treat here, with Johnny Depp playing the fascinating title character (the man behind so-bad-it’s-good-classic Plan 9 From Outer Space), and the filmmakers drawing just the right mix of pathos and humour out of his eternal failings.
