7. Poltergeist
Poltergeist is a film that defined my view of fear. It terrified me during repeated surreptitious viewings as a young child, and to this day clown dolls still make me want to run away screaming in terror. Spielberg at his torturous finest, there’s not a moment in this film that’s wasted- from the first hints at something being off to scenes where the cast wade through corpses, Poltergeist still maintains it’s power to terrify many years later.
