Now, I’m honestly not trying to populate this list with romcoms- but it would be a crime not to warn everyone away from this shockingly dull piece of nonsense. It’s attempts at topicality leave it dead in the water by today’s standards, and Meg Ryan has never looked less charming. Tom Hanks even struggles to pull any ounce of wit from the script, and the film winds up one of the least romantic and least funny romantic comedies ever made.
