9. Cold Mountain
I’m not saying that everyone thinks that every Anthony Minghella film is painfully boring-I’m just saying that between this and the tenuous English Patient you couldn’t be mocked for thinking that. Jude Law is often questionable at the best of times and here, put up against a never-worse Renee Zewellger and a pathetic Nicole Kidman in the ol’ days of the civil war, he’s so flat he barely registers on camera. Period pieces don’t have to be long and boring- it just so happens this one is.
