4. Allie’s Casting
Macadams managed to beat out a number of other starlets for the coveted role of Allie, even though she received the script just the night before she auditioned-when she was at the premiere of another movie! She managed to score over Ashley Judd, Reese Witherspoon and Jessica Biel for the role-as well as, improbably, Britney Spears. The older Allie is played by the director’s mother, Gina Rowlands-keeping it in the family indeed.
