2. Les Miserables
Yes, I’m talking about the blockbuster that no-one could get enough off about a year ago. It’s totally, completely over-the-top and operatic-but it pulls it off by being completely open about the whole thing and going with it in a swish of cape and a wiggle of eyebrow. Amazing songs, great performances, and perfect cast all led to this- probably one the most successful and faithful stage-to-screen adaptation in recent memory. Oh, and Russel Crowe really isn’t that bad. So stop using that as an excuse not to go.
