Up until this movie, Mia Wasikowski was best known for her role in Alice in Wonderland, while Nicole Kidman was best known for never, ever moving her face (botox). But in this they threw off their respective shackles and took on fascinating, layered roles- a mother and daughter both drawn to the same, very strange man. Full of atmosphere and strong tension, this was a movie that snuck up on you with it’s sense of weirdness.
