2. Sherlock Holmes
After saving his reputation with the fine RocknRolla, Guy Pearce decided to go one better and take a new look at the most British of heroes: Sherlock Holmes. Played by Marvels resident Ironman, Robert Downey Jr (with an English accent that’s not half bad), and Jude Law as Watson, Sherlock Holmes shows the titular detectives as more of a bumbling dandy, who happens to be a genius. While the films (along with the sequel A Game of Shadows) went in their own direction story wise, with only references to the original Arthur Conan Doyle stories, fans flocked to cinemas with both films making over $200,000,000.
