10. The Wild Bunch
The Sam Peckinpah-directed western pulls no punches with an ultra-violent thriller that pays homage to Westerns of yesteryear. Following a bunch of cowboys on the wrong side of forty looking for one last score as the West they once knew rapidly disappears from under their feet, there’s lots of brawling, riding and tight dialogue in this intelligent salute to the genre.
