Winona Ryder stars as the high-schooler-from-hell in this twisted black comedy. Ryder and her new boyfriend, played by a never-better (looking) Christian Slater, start picking off the members of the school’s leading cliques, the Heathers, in order to make the school a better place. It’s violent, hilarious, and brilliantly deadpan-and Ryder plays the ultimate analogue for the clever, hot girl in high school. The final scene is one of the best ever in movie history, and you’ll be trying to work out where it’s going to the last second.
