11. Public Enemies
Now, this was one of those rare films that just shouldn’t have been boring but was. Johnny Depp playing John Dillinger? Um, yes. Throw in Christian Bale as supporting cast and some properly thrilling gangster storylines and you’re in line for a movie that actually looks like an instant classic. Instead, we wound up with an insipid, pretentious piece of dull that couldn’t even redeem itself with the generic and underused action sequences.
